Dimidiochromis Compressiceps

Dimidiochromis Compressiceps

The Dimidiochromis Compressiceps aka "Malawi Eye Biter" is a predatory fish found in Lake Malawi. This rather impressive predator is part of the cichlid family. Females are silver in colour whilst the mature males show off a brilliant electric blue colour with their dorsal fin edged with a bright red. A brutal hunter with a voracious appetite, one should take this into consideration when keeping this fish with smaller fish that can fit into Dimidiochromis Compressiceps large mouth. Dimidiochromis Compressiceps should take readily to being fed a diet of shrimp, pellets, krill and even mussels. This fish should be kept in a well filtered, hard water tank setup (use of crushed coral recommended) that is not too crowded.
